Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025

This privacy policy explains how Dante Harker (“I”, “me”, “my”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use this website (danteharker.com) and when you get in touch for therapy or wellbeing services. It is written to comply with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

The data controller is Dante Harker. You can contact me at [email protected] or by text/WhatsApp on 07305 507124.

2. What data I collect and why

When you use the contact or booking forms

I collect your name, email address and the message you send. This is used only to respond to your enquiry, arrange sessions, or provide the services you request. The legal basis is your consent (when you submit the form) and, once we work together, performance of a contract and my legitimate interest in running my practice.

Form submissions are processed by Formspree (formspree.io), which acts as a data processor. Formspree may store data on servers outside the UK; their privacy policy explains their safeguards.

When you visit the website

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (e.g. pages viewed, general location). This involves cookies and similar technology. For details, see the Cookie Policy. The legal basis for this processing is my legitimate interest in improving the website; you can control or opt out via your browser or our cookie information.

3. How long I keep your data

Enquiry and contact form data: I keep it only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up (typically up to 12 months unless we enter into a therapeutic relationship).

Client/therapy records: If you become a client, I keep clinical and contact data in line with professional and legal requirements (typically for a minimum of 7 years after our work ends, or as required by my insurers and professional body).

4. Who I share your data with

I do not sell your data. I may share it only where necessary, for example: with Formspree (form submissions); with Google (analytics, as set out in the Cookie Policy); with professional advisers or if required by law (e.g. court order, safeguarding). In therapy, confidentiality is explained separately in my Confidentiality page.

5. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to: request access to your personal data; have it corrected if it’s wrong; request erasure in certain cases; restrict processing; object to processing; and, where applicable, data portability. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, contact me using the details in section 1.

6. Security

I take reasonable steps to keep your data secure (e.g. secure email, limited access to client information, use of reputable processors). No internet transmission is 100% secure; I cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when I do. Continued use of the site or my services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
